In parts of the country that only recently got Sunoco stations, if they didn't advertise it that way, people would think it was an off-brand. Seriously. I sort of feel that way about Wix oil filters, too.

Not in Utah, people are apparently so excited when an out of state brand arrives they will line up for months after it opens. In N out burger lines are still stupid long

True, but I assume In N Out is probably already known. When a franchisor brought Sunoco to our area a few years ago, it was almost completely unknown by people outside of racing circles (they provide a lot of race gas). I also remember our first Chipotle, which was sort of the same reaction, but people at least already knew the name from hearing it in the news. But we already so much quick, cheap, good Mexican food, I still don't know how they make it.

its funny though, name your brand and its the same. Clothes, restaurants, products, services...whatever. Utahns are nuts for out of state stuff for some reason. if Sunoco came here and played it smart they could have people waiting for their gas because people are nuts I guess.
